You can access wetland related information by using horizontal menu, sub- menu structure. While accessing the wetland information on this site, you will come across pages made using DjVu technology. So how to use this technology?
DjVu Technology
All the above metioned atlases, simple maps on Wetlands of india and prioritized maps on inland wetlands of India are present in the DjVu format. To view the atlases or maps, it requires the free DjVu browser plug-in available from www.lizardtech.com
or click here for
DjVu plug-in. After clicking the above links for mangroves atlases, following toolbar will be seen which has multiple options.
Uisng this toolbar, you can save
the atlases or maps on your machine or can take print 
of the same. It also provides the
zoom in
, zoom out
and pan
option for better
viewing the maps included in the atlas. You can also use the zoom option 
to zoom selected area. You can also use navigation option
on the toolbar for seeing next page or previous page or you can type the number of the page which you want to view.
There is also a option 
for searching text in the atlas or maps.
You will also come across using Advanced or Interactive maps using ALOV map technology. For accessing both the maps you need to register yourself using the form provided in the map portal section. For interactive maps, after successful logon to the map portal, there is a provision for demonstration for Interactive maps on wetlands of India.
How to access databases in the website?
1. Species inventory on Angiosperms, Fishes and Birds in India
Database on Species Inventory on Angiosperms, Fishes and Birds in India was developed using Jakarta Taglib for front-end development and Mysql database as back-end for storing the data. The interface provides easy search facility and which results in displaying scientific names and Google images link so that user can have photographic view for the particular species. Species search for angiosperms, Freshwater Fishes and Birds can be done by "Contains"- specific word in the scientific name, or by "Begins with"- specific letter or word by which scientific name starts, or by "ends with"- specific letter or word by which scientific name ends, or by "Is" - complete scientific name.

2. Bibliography database related to wetlands
Database on bibliography was developed using Jakarta Taglib for front-end and Mysql for back-end for storing bibliographic data. The interface provide easy search with two-combo box, first combo box includes keywords, author and year while second contains journals, thesis, reports and a textbox for entering search word. This interface provides various combinations, which facilitates easy searching for bibliographic data. This database contains 4460 records which covers scientific papers from the journals such as Journal of Bombay Natural History Society,Forktail, Newsletters for Bird Watchers,Journal of Ecological Society.
Hornbill and from grey literatures such as thesis, report and unpublished thesis and manuscriptsetc.

Accessing Regional Language interface in Hindi
Development of Wetlands of India website into Hindi language was done by using Microsoft's WEFT (Web Embedding Fonts Tool) software which is available freely. This technology used for creation of dynamic fonts so that user doesn't need to download the font required seeing language script. But only Internet explorer supports this technology. Firefox browser doesn't support Indic script languages. On the homepage of wetlands of India, a combo-box is provided to switch onto either Hindi or English version of wetlands of India
